An overwhelming desire to see every nook and cranny of the world inspires us to explore more. We want to travel for all the obvious reasons; culture, food, and beautiful landscapes, but it's the people that we meet that make it an incredible experience. We can both be a bit reclusive at home, and traveling takes us out of our comfort zones and challenges us.
Our current trip through Latin America in our truck and camper gives us tons of opportunities to engage with others. It's such an outgoing, friendly culture. People are constantly approaching us to ask where we're from, where we've been, and even to invite us to stay in their homes. We meet a ton of other overlanders from all over the world as well, at camping spots and on the road. It's a tight-knit, supportive group.
Embracing other cultures has helped us to appreciate our differences, but more importantly it helps us to see how similar we all are, which helps to bridge the imaginary gaps that can divide us. The more traveling we do the more we realize how little we know about the world around us and it has helped us realize that there's always room for personal growth.
